Paper Road Products

Paper Road’s initial entry into the paper market has been a great success. At the Friends of Dard Hunter meetings in Chicago and at the Pyramid Atlantic Book Arts Fair in Washington, DC last November, sales of sheet papers, cards, stationery, notebooks, Lhasa journals and tee shirts went well.

THI in Kathmandu provides PR/T with natural-colored lokta (Daphne bhuloa) in 10, 20 and 40 gram sheets. The latter come in six natural-dyed colors. The 20 gram sheets are also available wood block printed in a selection of five Tibetan patterns.

We also have natural-dyed stationery sets, small and medium journals and newly designed luxu-rious Artist’s Journal, with 100 deckle-edged heavy weight 12" x 8.5" pages. The cover is durable crinkled natural-dyed paper in two shades. The beautiful thick and textured Precious Bamboo sheets, great for book covers, are also available.

From our partner, the Jatson Chumig Welfare Special School in Lhasa, PR/T stocks Tuk Relchak (Stellera chamaejasme) in natural color, bark papers and various recycled sheets dyed with colored sewing scraps. PR/T also sells blank pocket Lhasa Journals of traditional Tuk Relchak paper. The school produces a die-cut miniature chorten and a variety of printed cards with Tibetan images—a scorpion, the Kalachakra mantra, and a travel mantra card. We also have Basket Paper in 18" diameter round basket-textured sheets.

We also have new tee shirts! All purchases support PR/T’s work. Besides selling directly to individuals, we are marketing products in the U.S. through a few well-placed suppliers.
